How to Immigrate to Canada as Federal Skilled Worker
Canada allows every year permanent residence to skilled works based on their education, work experience, knowledge of English and/or French, and other criteria that is necessary to establish economically in Canada.
You application is eligible for processing as Federal Skilled Worker if:
- You have included the results of your official language proficiency test, AND
- You have an offer of arranged employment, OR
- You are a skilled worker who has at least one year of experience in one or more of the 29 high demand occupations, OR
- be an international student enrolled in a PhD program in Canada (or graduated from a Canadian PhD program within the past 12 months) and meet certain criteria.
If you meet the minimum application processing criteria, then you should also have at least one year of continuous full-time paid work experience or the equivalent in part-time continuous employment within the last 10 years in Skill Type 0 (managerial occupations) or Skill Level A (professional occupations) or B (technical occupations and skilled trades) on the Canadian National Occupational Classification list.
Federal Skilled Worker’s application is also assessed according to the following six factors point selection grid:
- Education (Maximum 25 points)
- Your knowledge in English and/or French, Canada’s two official languages (Maximum 24 points)
- Work experience (Maximum 21 points)
- Age (Maximum 10 points)
- Whether you have arranged employment in Canada, and (Maximum 10 points)
- adaptability (Maximum 10 points)
You should get minimum 67 points out of 100 points to qualify to immigrate to Canada.
