Canadian Experience Class for Canadian Immigration
Canadian Experience Class is the option for temporary foreign workers and international graduate students of post secondary institutions to obtain Canadian permanent residence status. According to the Canadian National Occupational Classification (NOC), skilled work experience should be in Skill Type 0 (managerial occupations) or Skill Level A (professional occupations) or Skill Level B (technical occupations and skilled trades).
The applicants must not be planning to live in Quebec and should meet the following minimum requirements to apply for permanent residence under the Canadian Experience Class:
- The applicant be either:
- A temporary foreign worker with at least two years of full-time (or equivalent) skilled work experience in Canada, OR
- a foreign graduate from a Canadian post-secondary institution with at least one year of full-time (or equivalent) skilled work experience in Canada
- Has gained skilled work experience in Canada with the proper work or study authorization
- must apply while working in Canada – or – within one year of leaving the job in Canada
- must include the results of IELTS/TEF with the application
The application will be assessed on two requirements if applicant is a temporary foreign worker:
- Work experience AND
- Ability in English or French.
The application of a graduate of a Canadian post-secondary educational institution with Canadian work experience will be assessed using the above requirements, as well as:
- Education.
